IT support and cyber security for car dealerships

Specialist IT support for UK car dealerships, from single-site independents to multi-franchise dealer groups. We understand Keyloop, Kerridge K8, Pinewood and the dealer tech stack around them. We keep you trading when things go wrong, and we stop things going wrong in the first place.

Free, around 45 minutes, no obligation. You keep the findings whether you work with us or not.

When your DMS goes down, your dealership stops selling

Cars cannot be taxed. Finance proposals cannot be submitted. The workshop cannot book labour. Parts cannot invoice. Every hour is measurable lost revenue, and every dealer principal in the country watched the CDK Global outage in 2024 and thought the same thing: what happens if that was us?

Most IT providers do not understand the dealership environment. They treat your DMS like any other application and get caught out the first time finance and insurance cannot submit a proposal on a Saturday afternoon. We work across the systems that actually run your business, and we plan for the days they fail.

We speak dealer

Multiple departments, many sets of needs, one network that has to serve all of them. We work across the platforms your teams rely on every day.

Dealer Management Systems

Keyloop (formerly CDK/ADP), Kerridge Autoline and K8, Pinnacle by Pinewood, and Navigator. We know the quirks, the integrations and the failure modes.

OEM connections

The VPNs, certificates and compliance that come with every franchise. From ODIS for VAG to ISTA for BMW and STAR Xentry for Mercedes, we keep workshop connectivity reliable.

Finance and valuation

Black Horse, MotoNovo, Close Brothers, iVendi, CAP HPI, Glass’s, AutoTrader feeds, CarGurus and DVLA lookups, all kept connected and secure.

Showroom, workshop and parts

Three departments with different needs on one network. We build it so it works for each, including workshop WiFi that holds up in a steel-framed building full of ramps.

What we do for dealerships

DMS resilience and uptime

Your DMS is the biggest dependency in your business. We monitor it around the clock, manage the supporting infrastructure and have tested continuity plans, so you know about an issue before your sales team does.

Multi-site connectivity

Resilient, fast networks across showroom, workshop, parts, used car sites and satellite locations, with failover so a single broadband fault does not take a site off the air.

Cyber security for automotive

UK dealers are increasingly targeted by phishing, invoice fraud and ransomware. We deliver Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus, managed detection and response, phishing training and the OEM-mandated controls manufacturers keep tightening.

FCA Consumer Duty and compliance

Every dealership that brokers finance is regulated by the FCA. We help you meet your obligations with email archiving, call recording integration, secure document handling and the Microsoft 365 controls that prove compliance.

Workshop and parts technology

Diagnostic tools, tyre pressure systems, MOT bay equipment, parts scanners and handheld tablets all need reliable network access. We get the workshop connectivity right.

Microsoft 365, backup and recovery

Most dealers use a fraction of Microsoft 365. We deploy Teams Phone, SharePoint and Intune properly, protect the estate, and back it all up with immutable backups and tested recovery, so the answer to a ransomware hit is hours, not weeks.

Why this matters right now

Attacks on automotive are real

The CDK incident in June 2024 disabled dealerships across North America for nearly three weeks. UK dealer groups have been hit by ransomware and business email compromise, and insurers now demand proof of specific controls before they renew.

FCA Consumer Duty is enforced

The FCA is actively reviewing motor finance and issuing information requests. Dealers who cannot evidence their customer communications and outcomes are exposed.

OEMs are tightening the rules

Manufacturers are auditing franchised networks and requiring Cyber Essentials Plus, MFA and specific endpoint controls as a condition of the franchise. What was optional last year is contractual this year.

The dealers getting ahead of this now are the ones who will not be panicking in 12 months.

What dealer principals ask us

What happens if our DMS goes down?
It depends on the cause. If it is a local issue (server, connectivity, integration), we typically have you back up within the hour because we have planned for it. If it is a supplier-side outage at Keyloop or Kerridge, we work the ticket on your behalf, keep your team informed, and have workaround processes ready so you can still take deposits and log sales until service resumes. The point is that you are not sitting on hold to a vendor, you are calling us.
Do you support Keyloop, Kerridge K8, Pinewood and the other DMS platforms?
Yes. We support the infrastructure, connectivity and integrations around all the major UK DMS platforms. The application itself is supplied and licensed by the DMS vendor, but the servers, networks, backups, security and user devices are where we add value. We work alongside your DMS provider, not around them.
Can you help us with FCA Consumer Duty?
Yes, specifically the IT side of it: auditable email and communication retention, secure document sharing with customers, call recording integration, access controls so only authorised staff see customer finance data, and the reporting that evidences all of it. We are not compliance consultants and will not write your policies, but we build the IT that makes those policies enforceable.
Do you support multi-site dealer groups?
Yes. Most of our dealer work is with groups running multiple sites and franchises. We handle site-to-site connectivity, centralised identity and security, a consistent experience across locations, and the remote and local responsiveness that groups need.
Are you Cyber Essentials certified, and can you help us get certified?
Yes to both. Supere is Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certified and we help our clients achieve Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus, including the automotive-specific controls your OEM may require on top.
We’re tied to a DMS vendor’s “preferred” IT partner. Can you still help?
In almost every case, yes. The DMS vendor typically supports the application. The rest of your IT (servers, networks, endpoints, Microsoft 365, cyber security, connectivity) is yours to choose. We work alongside DMS vendors all the time without conflict.
What does this cost?
Per-user or per-device pricing, published transparently, with no surprise line items. Use our pricing calculator for an indicative figure, or book a review and we will quote properly against your actual environment.
